5 Tips for Relieving Stress

Article by Bonny

We all feel stress in our lives at some time or another. Whether it’s our child’s first day of school, paying the bills, going to work, or arguing with a family member. We all feel it and it takes a toll on our minds, bodies and our health. I’ve found 10 things that help me relieve at least some of the stress in my life. So I’m giving you these 10 tips for relieving stress in your life. I hope they help you.

Tip #1-Take a bath. Put in your favorite bath additive (bath salts, bath beads, or my personal favorite bubble bath), light a few candles, maybe grab a book you’ve been wanting to read. Then just lay back in the bathtub and enjoy.

Tip #2-Read a book. Reading helps to get your mind off of things that may be bothering you, so grab that book you’ve been wanting to read but haven’t gotten around to yet and read it.

Tip #3 Exercise- Exercise produces endorphins. Endorphins are a chemical that make you happy (apparently it’s also in chocolate).

Tip #4 Take time for yourself- Do something you enjoy doing. For me I enjoy baking, for you it might be going out to a movie or dinner, or going for a run or a swim. Just make sure you’re doing something for you.

Tip #5 Drink a cup of tea- I know it doesn’t sound like much, but for me, if I’m really stressed and can’t get to sleep, I have found that a cup of spearmint tea helps me relax and get to sleep.

I know there are a lot of chemicals or medicines out there you could buy to help with stress but I prefer to try the natural cures first.

I hope these 5 tips for relieving stress help you.
